Mandaean World Congress have continues activities all the year round

Meeting of the President of the MWC with the leaders of the UPF

On Friday, 22/12/2022, Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi, President of the Mandaean World Congress, held an important meeting attended by Dr. Yonk, the UPF’s second-in-command, Mr. Ataka, President of Asia and the Pacific, Dr. Krikory Stone, Secretary General of the Organization, and Mr. Santosh, President of the Australia and Pacific Islands Region. The meeting was at a lunch table on the occasion of Dr. Yonk’s visit to Australia.

After continuous discussions, the President of the Congress was assigned a basic task, which is to form a five-person committee chaired by him in his capacity as an advisor to the UPF and Ambassador of Peace. This task is one of the most important tasks for the Pacific Islands, and the task of selecting the delegation will be the responsibility of Mr. Fouad Sabbi. The date of the start of the mission will be determined later, through which the Mandaean religion will be introduced, peace between the peoples of those islands and international relations will be strengthened, in addition to supporting the rights of women and children and urging countries to show all interest in them. The visit includes Pacific Island countries, Salmon Island and others. After completing the mission, a meeting of leaders of all the islands will be held on the island of  Guam  , which is located near the Philippines.  Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi will deliver a comprehensive report  on his visit in front of the celebrants who will attend from all countries of the world will be presented. The report  will then be submitted to the President of the organization, Mother Moon..

The numerous efforts and active presence at the international forums and these wonderful initiatives of the MWC President, have never practiced before to introduce the international community to the Mandaean religion carrying the love and support that the leaders of this religion hold for peace in the world, it is fundamentally stems from the essence of the great Mandaean religion. The unleash of this trend through the UPF, which found in the person of Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi this dedicated spirit in order to spread peace and love among peoples, is a source of pride to sons and daughters of our Mandaean religion and its essence and principles .

On Thursday afternoon, 13/12/2022, a meeting was held at the house of Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi with the leaders of the organization in Sydney, namely:

  • Karkoury Stone, Secretary General of the Universal Peace Federation UPF
  • John Adam, President of the UPF Organization for Asia and the Pacific
  • Santosh, President of the Peace Organization in the Pacific Islands
  • Ayar Jawi Farhan, representative of the President of MWC in the Philippines and Asia
  • His Eminence Al-Tirmidha Thamer Jaber Shamkhi Assistant President of MWC the Conference for Religious Affairs
  • Wadih Shamekh, journalist & editor-in-chief of the electronic magazine Alf Yaa.

The meeting lasted for about two hours and discussed ways on how to cooperate with the UPF Organization in many fields of religion, peace, family and history. The discussion included the ancient Mandaean history & culture, which began from four hundred and forty thousand years ago. The President of the Congress explained how to employ experienced people to work in the organization with the MWC and try to link the congress efforts with Mandaean community and youth for the future advancement & projects.

 

The plan drawn up by the president of the congress is to be implemented step by step. The abundant and important efforts made by the President of the Mandaean World Congress and the advisor to the Universal Peace Federation organization in order to promote a culture of peace and love in the world.

Meeting of the President of the Mandaean World Congress (MWC) in Thailand

On the sidelines of the work of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Fouad Chasib Sobbi, President of the World Mandaean Conference, attended a working lunch banquet on Wednesday, 07/12/2022 in the capital of Thailand, Bangkok.

The meeting was attended by the Vice-President of the Organization, Dr. Welch, who is responsible for the South Asian countries, and Mr. Lek, Vice President of the Organization for South Asian Pacific Rim Affairs, in addition to Ms. Viba; she is the Vice-President of the United Nations Women’s Organization for South Asian Affairs, which has total member of 40 countries.

The three-hour meeting discussed matters related to the value of a family in those countries and the difficulties facing them and how to support them by the UPF Organization and find important solutions to address their predicament issues. Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi also raised the suffering of our Mandaean people in the waiting countries and asked the organization to support this basic demand to relocate them, as well as how to consolidate the relationship between the UPF and the Mandaean religion, whose principle coincides with the principles of the UPF.

The presence of the President of the Mandaean World Congress in this international forum and raising the issues of the Mandaean religion and the suffering of its people after they left their homelands will have a great impact on our religion and the members of our community.

Decision to Recommend the Mandaean Researcher Diyar Saqar Al-Haidar

The President of the Mandaean World Congress, Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi, decided to assign the Mandaean researcher  Diyar Saqar Al-Haidar to the office of the President of the Congress and to have his place of work in the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) as a representative of the President of the Congress. It is a matter of pride that Mr.  Diyar Al Haidar is among the cadres of the Congress due to his high academic qualifications that will have a great impact on international relations between our community and the international organization.

About theMandaean researcher Diyar Sakr Al-Haidar

Mr.  Diyar Saqar Al Haidar was honored as an expert and keynote speaker on minorities in the Middle East and cross-cultural education. His areas of research are Mandaean religion, their anthropology and culture.

 

He has been invited as a keynote speaker in various social justice campaigns, government organizations and conferences. He is active in numerous radio programs and newspaper articles. As a scholar he authored and published numerous research articles on cross-cultural education and Mandaean religion. His book “Mandaeaism” has become an important source in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia countries on Mandaeans, their traditions and religion.  Diyar is currently the Director of the IMEM Institute (Institute for Minorities in the Middle East) in Sweden.  He has a proven track record of ten years of experience as a professional teacher and education manager in cross-cultural education, and he is responsible for developing learning strategies, curriculum design and planning across Sweden and Scandinavia.

Attendance of the President of the Mandaean World Congress for the Mandaean Youth Football Championship

In order to support our Mandaean youth in the field of sports and give them the impetus to continue performing sports activities, Mr. Fouad Jaseb Sabbi, President of the World Mandaean Conference, attended on Sunday, 30/10/2022, the tenth football cup championship, the tenth session of the Mandaean Cup 10, which was organized by the Mandaean Sports Club in Australia in the presence of our distinguished clerics, community heads of a number of associations and Mandaean organizations, media professionals, in addition to an audience of fans. The President of the World Mandaean Congress awarded a number of players sports decorations as well as he distributed a number of Mandaean books and literature to athletes.

Mr. Fouad Sobbi thanked the organizers of this tournament for the great effort in organizing it and providing the requirements for its success .

All thanks and appreciation to Mr. Fouad Jassib Sobbi for supporting our youth sports activities as he does not hesitate to support any endeavor that falls in the interest of the members of the community.

MWC and UPF Delegation Peace Meeting

Peace Ambassadors meet  in Sydney

Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi,  President of  the Mandaean  World Congress (MWC) and Ambassador of Peace attended on Saturday, 27/08/2022 at the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) organization’s headquarters in central Sydney,  an invitation to peace ambassadors set up by UPF, attended by 120 peace ambassadors, in addition to a good number of Australian MPs and representatives of the church, Muslim community and  university professors from different Australian regions  .

In a speech given by Mr. John, one of UPF officials in Australia and the Pacific, praised  the  President of the  MWC and its role in  the meeting of peace leaders & World Leaders in South Korea.  Mr. John explained  the effectiveness of pouring water participated by everyone,  including the Mandaean religion, and the  meaning of this work, which embodies with the will and need of   the people for peace affirmed by all religions in the  world. He presented several pictures of the  activities of the South Korean conference plus summary of the activities that took place there.

Towards Peaceful Reunification of Korean Peninsula: Creating a Global Culture of Peace

The internationally renowned Universal Peace Federation (UPF) has organized an International Leadership Conference (ILC2022- ASIA PACFIC) which was held at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Manila, the Philippines on July 29-31, 2022.  

This was to build on the World Summit 2022 held in Korea in February of the same year when the resolution of Seoul Declaration was signed by:

 

1-    Dr. Hak J Moon – Co-founder of UPF

2-    H. E. Samdech – summit Co-chairs – prime minister of the kingdom of Cambodia

3-    H.E. Ban Ki-moon – former Secretary General of the United Nation

 

This important document has provided the vision a substance for the deliberations at the Manila conference.

The UPF and its global network of Ambassadors for peace advocate the need for universal principles to address conflict and reconcile our divided human family. The international Leadership conference (ILC2022) focused on the urgent need for the vision of moral and spiritual leadership. The presentations were very well attended and offered a framework for peacebuilding and development grounded. In core values that transcend nationality, ethnicity, and doctrine. 

 

They were as many as 200 distinguished delegates from more than 40 nations have been invited to the 2 days conference, the first focus was to expand the (UPF) association with other organizations that attended the conference:

 

1-    The international Summit for peace 

2-    The International Association for First Ladies for Peace

3-    The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)

4-    The Interreligious Association for peace and development

5-    The International Media Association for peace

6-    The International Association for Peace and Economic Development and the 

7-    The International Association of Arts and Culture for peace

 

The second focus was on the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. It has been more than 70 years since the Korean War started in 1950, which is still tragically divided the country at the 38th parallel. No peace treaty has been signed yet. Despite many efforts to open a path to peace and reconciliation.

There were 4 sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon:

1-    Session One: Opening Plenary; Towards a unified Korea: During this important session; several speeches were delivered by ex-head of states and dignitaries & VIPs personally and on video conference, or via video message:

7-    Session Seven: Closing Session

The conference was ended with closing remarks, recommendations, and summary of all sessions to be used for future seminars and studies & research, with digital archives and all the documentation to be passed to the main UPF head office. 

Obituary Remembrance Gathering: 

After the lunch break, there was an obituary remembrance gathering for the ex-prime minister of Japan H.E. Shinzo Abe (1954-2022) who was assassinated in July 8th 2022 longest-serving prime minister and the world stateman known and loved throughout Japan and the world. He has left a legacy of goodness and greatness that can never be erased. There was a statement from the UPF read to the conference and a presentation about his life. 

Flowers were presented by the wives of the Filipino gentlemen who are Japanese nationals, living in the Philippines and were laid at the altar table where his photo was placed surrounded by two large white candles.  Filipina Opera singer performed one hymn song afterward. 

There were cultural dances from the province of the Philippines performed by university students to light up the atmosphere of the conference delegates & during the afternoon break session, and an opera singer performed again a couple of songs during the late afternoon resting break while the delegates had a coffee and met each other. 

Several TV & Radio stations were present and active at the conference in which they conducted several life interviews and reports with the organization team and dignitaries present at the conference.

MWC president visit Europe – Embassies of Iraq & Iran

On June 16, 2022, a delegation led by Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi, president of the Mandaean World Congress (MWC), paid a visit to the Iraqi Republic Embassy & Iranian Embassy – Denmark in order to coordinate with the ambassadors of both countries and deliver a message to the their government urging it to elevate and improve relations between its citizens, the Mandaean community, and all segments of both nations & societies. It was discussed during both meetings the challenges our community faces inside Iraq and Iran & in the exile countries like Syria and Jordan, highlighting how crucial it is to combat racism, sectarianism, and the isolation of our native Mandaean people.

President of the Mandaean World Congress honors The Mandaean School Staff in Australia

 On Saturday, 14/05/2022, the President of the Mandaean World Congress, Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi, honored the teaching staff of the Mandaean School of the Sabean Mandaean Society in Australia for supporting and encouraging them to exert the efforts they are making in teaching the Mandaean language for students from the age of six to fifteen years. The honoring was on the occasion of the school’s celebration of the blessed Prosperity Day, the blessed feast of (Dahfa Demana), and the celebration first started with reading one Butha (religious text) from the blessed book Ginza Rabba in which all participated students were present. 

After that, the President of the Mandaean World Conference began to honor the school staff, and they are:

  • The virtue of Tirmidha Beyam Jizan
  • Bahdad Jahili – School Administrator
  • Shakanda, Shadan Jahili
  • Shakdana, Mushtaq Anis Amour
  • Bushra Al-Sabti

Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi gave a speech in which he congratulated the students on the Eid and urged them to continue learning our Mandaean language and stressed that he will continue to support them and the Mandaean school by printing and developing books needed. Both gave speeches and congratulating the students on the occasion of Dahfa Demana. They explained how they were able to prepare a curriculum for teaching Mandaean with the help of the University of Sydney.  The ceremony was attended by the official of the Information Office of the Mandaean World Congress, Mr. Munther Naim Amer.

Eminence Reshama Salah Jabori Choheli, and the Mandaean World Congress (MWC) president, Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi

A coordination meeting was held on Sunday, June 5, 2022, between the Mandaean Community delegation, which was led by its president, Reshama Salah Jabori Choheli, and the Mandaean World Congress (MWC) president, Mr. Fouad Chasib Sobbi, and the media manager, Mr. Munther Naem Amer. Both Mr. Shadan Choheli, the senior teacher at the school, and Mr. Behdad Choheli, the headmaster of the Mandaean school, were present at the meeting. They talk about how crucial it is to construct the new school and to encourage the use of the Mandaean language by all facets of our community in order to revitalize and advance it. Additionally, it was discussed how to raise the required educational standard to be comparable to that of any other Australian primary school.

To best serve the community, Fouad Chasib Sobbi is adamant that the new school in Sydney be constructed as soon as possible. The president has sacrificed a lot of things for the goal of serving the Mandaean community from young to old, so it is essential to support and recognize his efforts, we are thankful for his generosity to the community and given the main example that a leader can give.
